September 5-9

Important Dates & Info:

• We will have Art with Ms. Bobbi next week.

• Please continue working on the September Reading Log and the September Phonological Awareness homework calendar for homework each night.

• Thank you to those who ordered Scholastic books in August. Every order earns our class points that I can order books with. The kids love seeing new books in our classroom library! A new book flyer came home on Thursday and I will send one more flyer home next week. September orders are due on 9/23.

• White t-shirts are due by Wednesday, September 14th.

• 9/23 NO SCHOOL: Teacher PD Day

• 9/27 Picture Retakes

What we learned this week:

• Reading: We have been reading nonfiction books about plants. Students learned what plants need to survive and nonfiction text features.

• Writing: We have been working on correct letter formation. We learned how to “think, say, sketch, write”.

• Math: We continued working on the numbers 0 to 5. Kindies practiced writing the numbers and making groups of numbers using counters, unifix cubes, and pictures.

• High Frequency Words: We have learned the following high frequency words: I, a, the, to, am. Continue practicing reading and writing these words at home.
