Important Dates & Info/Reminders:
  • We will have Science with Mrs. K. for specials next week.

  • Last week was the last week for homework folders!

  • Don't forget to have your student turn in any library books that they still have at home. You will receive a notice from Mrs. Kane (librarian) if your student has any outstanding books.

  • Please send in a white t-shirt so that students can sign their names on each other’s shirts by Tuesday 5/16.

  • May 15: Games Day- Students will participate during their normal Specials time 1:00-1:45pm. Click here for more information.

  • May 15: Rainbow Day- Wear colorful clothes, or wear your Games Day shirt if you ordered one. I will be wearing my Games Day shirt with rainbow accessories :)

  • May 16: Silly Sock Day

  • May 17: Continuation caps are due.

  • May 17: T-Shirt Signing Day

  • May 18: Under the Table Day- We will work under our tables

  • May 19: Video Day- We will enjoy a short video

  • May 25: Kindergarten Continuation Ceremony (Last day of school)

What we learned this week:
  • Reading: We read the book “Forces”. We discussed how pushes and pulls are different forces and that everything that moves is caused by some type of force. We also talked about how gravity keeps us on the ground.

  • Math: We learned about the differences between 2D and 3D shapes. We practiced identifying and drawing circles, squares, triangles, rectangles, and hexagons.

  • Writing: We continued our animal research unit and the class voted to research pythons. We created a bubble map and looked at Pebble Go to find information about pythons. We learned about the python's body, habitat, what they eat, and fun facts.

  • High Frequency Words: This week we learned the words “funny”, “put”, “want” and “saw”. Words we have learned so far: I, a, am, the, like, eat, in, it, did, into, and, we, see, go, no, so, has, as, is, his, does, box, on, was, man, am, at, that, hand, ran, friend, they, he, little, play, men, red, help, end, yes, went, get, way, away, say, day, run, up, under, must, and, you, there, big, with, very, our, out, all, good, no, for, jump, one, girl, are, here, your, have, said, two, love, when, look, me, come, here, away, yellow, blue, to, what, happy, of, funny, put, want, saw. Please continue to practice reading and writing these words at home.
