Important Dates & Info/Reminders:

• We will have Art with Ms. Bobbi for specials next week.

• If your student buys lunch please practice their numbers with them at home.

• Stuffy, Hot Cocoa & Pajama Day (Lynch's class only): October 13th

• Super Hero Day (whole school): October 14th- Dress like your favorite super hero (no masks or weapons)

• Fall Break: October 17-21 No School

• October 28th- Halloween party in the morning. More info coming soon!

• October 31st- NO SCHOOL: Teacher PD Day

What we learned:

• Phonics: We learned the letters Oo, Ll and Uu. We also reviewed all of the letters and sounds we have learned so far. We have been practicing stretching out the sounds in words and writing down the letters that represent the sounds we hear.

• Reading: We learned about characters this week during reading. We learned how to make mental images and ask questions to help us understand the story better. We learned how to retell important events in a story by using the 5-finger retell. Ask your student to tell you all the parts of a 5-finger retell (characters, setting, beginning, middle, end).

• Writing: We learned how to label and caption our writing. We stretched out words in order to write the sounds we hear.

• Math: This week we took our Topic 2 Assessment (comparing numbers 0-5) and started Topic 3 (Numbers to 10).

• High Frequency Words: We learned the words “see” and "go". We have learned the following words: I, a, am, the, like, eat, in, it, did, into, and, we, see, go. Continue to practice reading and writing these words at home.
