• Oct 17-21: Fall Break: No School

• Oct 28 - Friday: Halloween Classroom Party at 9:30

• Oct 29 - Saturday: Trunk or Treat. Do you want to decorate your trunk for your upcoming trunk or treat? All applications need to be in by Oct 21. See this link.

• Oct 31 Monday: No School for students - Teacher PD day.

• We have iReady growth monitoring the week of October 24.

• We will have P.E. with Ms. Woods for specials when we get back from fall break. Please make sure your student wears comfortable shoes.

• If you are wondering what you can do with your student at home please practice letters and sounds with your student. We are hoping that all students will know their letters and sounds by Winter break.

What we learned last week:

• Phonics: We learned the letters Gg, Jj, and Bb. We also reviewed all of the letters and sounds we have learned so far.

• Reading: We continued our unit on characters. We learned about shades of meaning. We also compared and contrasted the books "Wolf Cub’s Song" with "Dog Days of School" and made a venn diagram.

• Writing: We learned how to use our labels to help us write a caption for our picture.

• Math: This week we learned the numbers 6 through 10.

• High Frequency Words: We learned the words “no”, "so" and "go" and continued our learning about open syllables. We have learned the following words: I, a, am, the, like, eat, in, it, did, into, and, we, see, go, no, so. Continue to practice reading and writing these words at home.
