  • We will have Art with Ms. Bobbi for specials next week.

  • We are running out of stickers for our ten-frames and writing center. If anyone has any stickers laying around the house that they are not using, we would love to use them in the classroom! Thank you to those who already donated stickers!

  • April 12: Spring Picture Day - To order use the Picture Day ID: EVT4BGMPG. We need two volunteers to help the students get into and out of their cap and gown. We do not know the precise time the pictures will be taken but it will be in the morning. Please let me know if you are able to volunteer!

  • April 18: Start of our alphabet countdown! More information is coming soon.

  • April 21 & 24: NO SCHOOL

  • April 25 - May 5: i-Ready End-of-Year Diagnostic- This will be the last i-Ready test of the year!

  • May 15: Games Day

  • May 25: Kindergarten Continuation Ceremony (Last day of school)

  • Math homework: Your student should be coming home with a math worksheet from Envision every day. We will be doing more hands on activities in class so we might not get to the worksheet each day. Even if we do not get to the worksheet in class, I will send it home so that kids can work on it as extra practice (optional).

What we learned last week:
  • Reading: We read the book “Weather and the Seasons”. We talked about how good readers make mental images in their brains to help them understand the story better. We call that visualizing. We practiced how to visualize a story and then we drew our mental image in our journals.

  • Writing: We completed our opinion writing unit and read our books to the class.

  • Math: We started with Topic 9 - Teen numbers! We learned that the teen numbers consist of ten and some more. We will not always finish every single question on each worksheet in class. Your student should be bringing home their worksheets each day and can complete unfinished questions at home (optional).

  • High Frequency Words: This week we learned the words “your”, “have”, “said”, & “two”. Words we have learned so far: I, a, am, the, like, eat, in, it, did, into, and, we, see, go, no, so, has, as, is, his, does, box, on, was, man, am, at, that, hand, ran, friend, they, he, little, play, men, red, help, end, yes, went, get, way, away, say, day, run, up, under, must, and, you, there, big, with, very, our, out, all, good, no, for, jump, one, girl, are, here, your, have, said, two. Please continue to practice reading and writing these words at home.
