Important Dates & Info/ Reminders:

• Winter Break: December 22nd - January 9th

• We will have P.E. with Ms. Woods for specials when we come back to school in January.

• Scholastic orders are due December 28. You can shop online here, just enter the class code Q2M6Q.

• December 21: Pajama Day!

• Winter Celebration December 21: We will have a winter celebration in the afternoon on the last day before break including a movie, hot cocoa, and popcorn. No parent volunteers needed.

• Elementary Progress Reports (EPRs) will be available to view on December 23rd. Click here to view instructions on how to access your student’s EPR.

What we learned:

• Phonics: We reviewed all the letter names and sounds of the alphabet. We continued practicing writing uppercase and lowercase letters.

• Phonological Awareness: We practiced blending phonemes and isolating the middle sounds in CVC words.

• Reading: We continued reading Gingerbread books and compared and contrasted the events in the stories. We made predictions about what we thought would happen next.

• Writing: We planned a gingerbread story on a graphic organizer. We created our gingerbread character and decided what would happen first, next, then, and last.

• Math: We reviewed and took our Topic 5 assessment on classifying and categorizing objects and comparing groups.

• High Frequency Words: This week we reviewed the words we have learned so far. Words we have learned so far: I, a, am, the, like, eat, in, it, did, into, and, we, see, go, no, so, has, as, is, his, does, box, on, was, man, am, at, that, hand, ran, friend, they, he, little, and play. Please continue to practice reading and writing these words at home.
