What we learned this week:
Reading: We continued practicing our rhyming skills by reading "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and “Row Row Row Your Boat”. We worked on listening for the beginning and ending sound in words.
Writing: Kindies were introduced to different types of writing. They learned how to make a list and write a note to a friend. We started using our new writing folders and learned about the different resources in our folders.
Math: We are still working on learning the routines for our new math program enVision. Kindies practiced counting, subitizing, and using 1-to-1 correspondence. They used counters, unifix cubes, and drew their own pictures to represent an amount up to 5.
STEAM: This week in STEAM we did steam challenges including; marble maze with unifix cubes; domino reactions; building shelters; building a net with pipe cleaners; symmetry with pattern blocks; and using ten sticks and 100 blocks to build garages for cars.
Library: We went to the library for the first time this week to check out a book. We learned how to use shelf markers and how to look after our books with our new book bags. Students will turn their library books in every Friday morning. There is a blue crate right outside our door that they can drop their book bag in.
