Continue practicing lunch numbers at home. Students who buy lunch from the cafeteria will have to know their number and type it in themselves. Students can also buy bottled water or milk at lunch time if they have enough money in their account.

8/29 i-Ready Reading testing begins: We have been practicing logging in to our iPads by scanning a QR code. We practiced plugging in our headphones and turning the volume up and down. This first diagnostic test will be our baseline for the year so that we can show how much we've learned through growth monitoring assessments each month.

9/27 Picture Retakes

Reading: We have been practicing our rhyming skills by reading different Nursery Rhymes. We read "The Itsy Bitsy Spider", "Humpty Dumpty", and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". We worked on sequencing the events from each rhyme and practiced listening for the first sound in words.
Writing: Kindies practiced drawing people using shapes. No more stick figures for these kindergarteners! We brainstormed different things that writers can write. We also read different wordless picture books and talked about how we can tell a story just by using pictures. Kindies started their own wordless picture book!
Math: We started our new math program (Envision) this week. Kindies practiced counting, subitizing, and using 1-to-1 correspondence. They used counters, unifix cubes, and drew their own pictures to represent an amount.
We learned about the library and Learning Commons. We went to STEAM with Ms. Bobbi and will check-out books with Mrs. Kane in the library next Friday.
