Important Dates & Info:

Starting on Monday, your students will enter the school through the front door. Tell them to follow the purple paw prints to our classroom. Staff members will be in the hallways in the morning to direct students to their class.
Please make sure to pack 2 snacks that are separate from your student's lunch box. Talk to your child about where their snack is in their backpack so that they are able to find it easily each morning.
I didn't see any food allergies for students when I looked in my teacher portal. Please let me know if your student has food allergies and it was not listed in Infinite Campus. I keep extra snacks in the classroom and want to make sure that I'm not giving students anything they are allergic to!
If anyone is willing and able to donate some extra snacks, we would greatly appreciate it! Examples: goldfish, fruit snacks, granola bars.
We still ask for nut-free snacks (even though it looks like we don't have any nut allergies in our class) because we eat snack outside with other classes and there might be nut allergies in another class. Students may have nuts in their lunch because there is a nut-free table for students to sit at if they have allergies.
All About Me bags are due on Monday. These were sent home in the yellow folder. Students will share what they brought throughout the week, so they might not bring their items home right away.
Please send the yellow folder back to school. I will send home completed work or information from the school on Thursdays. Please take everything out and return the folder on Friday.
If you have not done so already, please send in headphones (no earbuds or wireless) for your student. We will begin i-Ready assessments on iPads in the next few weeks and want to make sure that everyone can access their tests.

Communication

I will send weekly update emails with a link to view the update on my website. You can also go straight to my website and check the weekly update tab. I try to update it by Friday night, but sometimes my kids have soccer tournaments or dance shows and I might have to send it out later in the weekend.

I am also using the Remind app this year! I will be sending out reminders to the group like "Picture day is today!" or "Don't forget to wear your pajamas for our pajama party!" through the Remind app. For those who already signed up, I sent their student's first day of school picture to them individually through the app.

First Day of School Fun!

On the first day of school, we took a tour around the school and learned the rules of the playground, cafeteria, and bathrooms.
We read the book "The Kissing Hand" and talked about the character's feelings and made predictions.
We made First Day of School crowns and learned how to use our materials correctly.
Students played at recess but it was so hot! Make sure to pack a water bottle every day! Students can refill their water bottle in class if their bottle is empty.
