April 3-7

Important Dates & Info/Reminders:

• We will have PE with Ms. Woods for specials next week.

• April 12: Spring Picture Day - To order go to mylifetouch.com and use the Picture Day ID: EVT4BGMPG. We need two volunteers to help the students get into and out of their cap and gown. We do not know the precise time the pictures will be taken but it will be in the morning. Please let me know if you are able to volunteer!

• April 18: Start of our alphabet countdown! More information is coming soon.

• April 21 & 24: NO SCHOOL

• April 25 - May 5: i-Ready End-of-Year Diagnostic- This will be the last i-Ready test of the year!

• April 28: Scholastic orders are due. This will be our last Scholastic order of the school year. This is a great time to order summer reading books! Click here to place an order and use the class code: Q2M6Q

• May 15: Games Day- This will be during our Specials time.

• May 25: Kindergarten Continuation Ceremony (Last day of school)

What we learned this week:

• Reading: We read the book “Plants and the Seasons”. We discussed cause and effect: when the weather is warm plants grow but when the weather is cold plants go dormant.

• Writing: We have been reading books by Eric Carle. After reading "The Grouchy Ladybug" we wrote about what makes us grouchy. Mrs. Lynch is grouchy when she is hungry!

• Math: We continued learning about teen numbers. We worked on identifying and writing the numbers 16-20. We also practiced counting to find how many and problem solving and reasoning.

• High Frequency Words: This week we learned the words “love”, “when”, “look”. Words we have learned so far: I, a, am, the, like, eat, in, it, did, into, and, we, see, go, no, so, has, as, is, his, does, box, on, was, man, am, at, that, hand, ran, friend, they, he, little, play, men, red, help, end, yes, went, get, way, away, say, day, run, up, under, must, and, you, there, big, with, very, our, out, all, good, no, for, jump, one, girl, are, here, your, have, said, two, love, when, look. Please continue to practice reading and writing these words at home.
